hunting, gathering, avoiding (2025)

A tribute to the tree carvings that never were, and a quiet defence of soft revenge.
Over dinner recently, we talked about love and the origins of humankind.
My friend said: “I really feel like people with an avoidant attachment style came from hunters. Gatherers — they are secure.”
This piece was hidden deep in the forest during a festival in Sweden — easier to find at night, when it revealed itself with the same green glow as the ceiling stars from your childhood bedroom.
It holds several relics of past connections: a keyring from Venice, a brooch, a photograph — brought together in a ritual borrowed from the advice column of a 2000s girl’s magazine.
